LuxShade V Plate is a five-way flat steel connector for a timber joint where a horizontal member, a vertical member and two diagonal braces meet. The black plate remains visible as an architectural detail in pergolas, canopies and decorative timber trusses.

Applications and installation

Suitable for exposed joints with diagonal bracing in timber frames. Check the actual timber widths and brace angles against the plate before ordering. Position and temporarily secure the timber members, mark the holes and select M12 bolts and Ø6 mm structural timber screws appropriate to the design. The capacity of the complete joint depends on the timber, fasteners, geometry and loading.
